Data & permissions

This page is a plain-language companion to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. It tells you at a glance what data this website collects and what device or browser permissions it requests, so you can make an informed decision without reading every legal clause.

Short version: this is a static marketing website for a design studio. We do not run user accounts, in-app purchases, or any interactive services that require sensitive device access. We collect only analytics and a theme preference. We do not sell personal information.

1. At-a-glance permissions

The table below lists every browser permission category relevant to this type of website and whether we request it.

Also blocked at the server level: the four not-requested permissions above (camera, microphone, location, notifications) are also disabled via the site's Permissions-Policy HTTP header served by Cloudflare Pages, so browsers will not prompt you for them even if a third-party script attempted to request them.

2. Data we collect

Website analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use this site. Analytics data is aggregated and processed by Google. It includes:

Google Analytics data is associated with a randomly-generated visitor identifier, not your name or email address. We do not enable Google Signals or any feature that links Analytics data to a Google account.

Theme preference (local storage)

When you toggle between light and dark mode, we write the value light or dark to the browser key codex-theme. This value never leaves your device; it is not sent to our servers or to any third party.

Cloudflare server and security logs

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare automatically receives and logs standard server request data including your IP address, the URL you requested, request timestamp, HTTP method, response status, and user-agent string. These logs are used for security, performance, and abuse-prevention purposes. Cloudflare's retention and privacy practices are described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Information you send us

If you email us directly or follow a contact link on this site, any personal information you include in your message (such as your name, email address, company, and project details) is received and used to respond to your inquiry. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle that information.

3. Device & browser permissions

This website requests no device or browser permissions. Your browser will never display a permission prompt from this site for camera, microphone, location, or notifications. The only browser storage we use is:

4. Cookies & local storage

We use two categories of browser storage on this site:

We do not use advertising cookies, social-media tracking pixels, or any fingerprinting technology. For a complete list of cookies with names, types, and expiry, see our Cookie Policy.

5. Third parties

Two third-party services receive data about visits to this site:

We do not sell personal information to any third party, and we do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

6. Your choices & controls

You have several options to limit the data this site collects about you:

7. Data location, retention & your rights

Analytics data is processed and stored by Google on servers that may be located outside Canada, including in the United States. Cloudflare server logs are similarly processed across Cloudflare's global network. When data is transferred outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of those countries.

Google Analytics visitor identifiers are retained for up to 14 months by default. Cloudflare's log retention follows Cloudflare's standard practices. The codex-theme local storage value persists in your browser until you clear it.

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (BC PIPA), you have the right to request access to personal information we hold about you, to request corrections, and to withdraw consent. For a full description of your rights and how to exercise them, see our Privacy Policy.
