Cookie policy
Last updated: June 3, 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on the Codex Corp corporate website, codexcorp.ca, and how you can control them.
1. What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser to remember information between visits. Similar technologies include local storage, where a small amount of data is kept in your browser on your device. Together these help a site function, remember preferences, and measure usage.
2. What we use on this site
We keep this minimal. The Site uses two things:
- Google Analytics cookies: for aggregate, anonymized measurement of how the Site is used. Typical cookies include _ga and _ga_<id>.
- A theme preference in local storage: your light/dark mode choice is stored under the key codex-theme. It stays on your device and is never sent to us or any third party.
3. Categories
Strictly necessary
The theme-preference local storage entry (codex-theme) is functional: it remembers your display choice so the Site looks the way you left it. It is set only when you use the theme toggle and is not used for tracking.
Analytics
Google Analytics cookies help us understand, in aggregate, which pages are visited and how visitors reach the Site, so we can improve it. This data is statistical and is not used to identify you personally.
4. Third-party cookies
The analytics cookies described above are set by Google as a third-party service provider. Google processes this data under its own terms. You can review Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses cookies. Our hosting and content-delivery provider, Cloudflare, may also set strictly necessary cookies for security and reliability.
5. How to manage or refuse cookies
You are in control. You can:
- Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Most browsers let you refuse cookies or alert you when one is set; check your browser's help pages.
- Clear local storage through your browser's site-data settings to remove the codex-theme preference.
- Opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Blocking strictly necessary or functional storage may affect how the Site works (for example, your theme choice may not be remembered).
6. Consent
By continuing to use the Site, you consent to our use of the cookies and local storage described here. Because we use only strictly necessary, functional, and aggregate analytics technologies (no advertising cookies), our approach is limited and privacy-respecting. Where required by law, we will obtain consent before setting non-essential cookies.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
