AI policy

Dream Codex uses AI to help you make sense of your dreams. This page explains, in plain language, what the AI does, what it sends where, and the important limits of what it can tell you.
Please remember. Dream interpretations are automatically generated, subjective, and meant for personal reflection or entertainment. They are not medical, psychological, therapeutic, or predictive advice. They cannot diagnose anything or foretell the future. Use your own judgment, and speak with a qualified professional for anything that matters.
What the AI does
When you choose to use AI features, Dream Codex can:
- Interpret your dream text — offer a possible reading of what a dream might be about.
- Surface symbols and themes — highlight recurring images, faces, places, and feelings.
- Summarize patterns — pull together trends across your entries, moods, and lucid nights over time.
- Transcribe voice to text — turn a spoken dream recording into a written entry.
What data is sent, and why
To generate an interpretation, the text of the dream entry you choose is sent to an AI provider. To transcribe a voice recording, the audio you record is sent to a third-party speech-to-text provider, which returns a text transcript. We send only what is needed for the feature you asked for. If you do not use these features, this content is not sent to those providers.
Interpretations are automated and subjective
Dream interpretation is not a science. Our AI produces one possible perspective based on patterns in language — not a definitive truth about you or your life. Two people could read the same dream very differently, and so could the AI on a different day. Treat interpretations as a prompt for your own reflection, nothing more.
Accuracy limitations
AI systems can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading. Transcripts may contain errors, especially with background noise, accents, or unusual words. Interpretations may miss context or produce statements that sound confident but are not accurate. Always apply your own judgment.
Human discretion, no automated decisions
You stay in control. Nothing the AI produces is a decision about you — it is a suggestion you can keep, edit, or ignore. Dream Codex does not use AI to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.
How to limit or skip AI features
AI features are optional. You can:
- Skip interpretations — keep an entry as a plain journal without asking for an AI reading.
- Type instead of speak — write your dream directly so no audio is sent for transcription.
- Use the private vault — store entries privately and choose not to run AI on them.
How AI providers handle your data
We choose providers that handle your content responsibly and only for the purpose of returning the feature you requested. We do not permit your dream content to be used to train third-party public AI models without your consent. Our providers' own terms also apply to their processing; we work to select partners whose practices are consistent with this stance.
Feedback and contact
If an interpretation or transcript seems off, your feedback helps us improve. For questions about how AI is used in Dream Codex, email privacy@codexcorp.ca. For related details, see our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
