These terms are the agreement between you and us for using Dream Codex. Please read them — they explain your rights, your responsibilities, and the limits of what a dream-journaling app can do.

Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or using Dream Codex, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy and AI Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Who we are

Dream Codex is operated by Codex Labs, a product line of Codex Corp, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Eligibility and age

You must be at least 13 years old to use Dream Codex, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. The app is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age of majority in your province, you should review these terms with a parent or guardian.

What Dream Codex is

Dream Codex is a mobile dream journal. You can record dreams by voice or text, receive automated AI interpretations and symbols, track mood and lucidity, view a calendar of patterns, use a sleep assistant that plays ambient soundscapes, and store entries in a private vault. Features may change, expand, or be removed as the app develops.

Your account and security

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your credentials safe. We strongly encourage enabling MFA or passkeys. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse Dream Codex. In particular, you will not:

• Break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data.
• Reverse engineer, disrupt, or overload the service.
• Upload malware, or use the service to harass or harm others.
• Use automated means to scrape or abuse the service.

Your content and ownership

Your dreams are yours. You retain ownership of your dream entries, voice recordings, transcripts, and tags. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display your content solely to operate and provide the service to you — for example, to save your entries, generate interpretations you request, and transcribe your recordings. We do not claim ownership of your content and we do not use it for advertising.

Availability and beta nature

Dream Codex is actively developed and may be offered in beta or preview form. The service is provided on an "as available" basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, and we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.

Intellectual property

The Dream Codex app, branding, design, and software are owned by Codex Labs / Codex Corp and are protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms do not grant you any rights in our trademarks or software except the limited right to use the app as intended.

Disclaimers of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dream Codex is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, secure, or always available, or that AI interpretations will be accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Codex Labs, Codex Corp, and our affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) Dream Codex. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Codex Labs and Codex Corp from claims arising out of your misuse of the service or your violation of these terms or of applicable law.

Termination

You may stop using Dream Codex and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or to protect the service or other users. You can export your data before deleting your account.

Governing law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the courts located in British Columbia, Canada will have jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any non-waivable consumer-protection rights you have where you live.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
