AI Policy

Last updated: June 2, 2026

Health Codex uses artificial intelligence to make logging faster and to offer helpful suggestions. This policy explains what our AI features do, what data they use, their limits, and the choices you have.

1. What our AI features do

AI helps Health Codex with tasks such as:

2. What data is sent to AI providers and why

To produce these features, relevant entry text and the context needed for the task (for example, the food description you typed or the goal you set) may be sent to AI service provider(s) for processing. We send only what is needed for the requested feature. AI providers process this data to return a result to the app.

3. AI outputs are informational only

Not medical advice

AI outputs are automated, may be inaccurate or incomplete, and are informational only. They are not medical, nutritional, or professional advice, and they are not a diagnosis. Always use your own judgment and consult a qualified professional before acting on AI suggestions. See our Health Disclaimer.

4. Human discretion and no significant automated decisions

AI features are tools to assist you. You remain in control: you decide whether to accept, edit, or ignore any AI suggestion. Health Codex does not use AI to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

5. Accuracy limitations and your responsibility

AI can misinterpret entries, estimate nutritional values imperfectly, or generate suggestions that do not fit your needs. You are responsible for reviewing AI outputs and for any actions you take based on them. Estimated calories, macros, and targets are approximations, not measurements.

6. Limiting or avoiding AI features

Where the app provides options, you can enter data manually rather than relying on AI parsing, and you can choose not to use AI-generated plans, recipes, or insights. If you prefer to minimize AI processing, favor manual entry and avoid the AI-powered features.

7. Data handling by AI providers

We work to ensure that data sent to AI providers is used to deliver the requested feature, not for unrelated purposes. We do not permit your personal data to be used to train third-party public AI models without your consent. Our use of AI providers is also covered by our Privacy Policy, including the section on international data transfers.

8. Changes to this policy

As our AI features evolve, we may update this policy. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.

9. Feedback and contact

If an AI feature produces something inaccurate or concerning, we want to know. Contact us at privacy@codexcorp.ca.
