Cookie policy
Last updated: June 3, 2026
1. About this policy
This policy explains how systems.codexcorp.ca uses cookies and similar technologies, including browser local storage. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
2. Cookies and local storage
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device. Local storage works similarly, letting a site keep small amounts of data in your browser without using cookies. Both can be set by the site you visit directly (first-party) or by third-party services it relies on.
3. What we use
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. It sets cookies including:
_ga: distinguishes unique users; expires after about two years._ga_<id>: used by Google Analytics 4 to persist session state; expires after about two years.
These cookies collect information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. We look at this data in aggregate to improve the site.
Theme preference (local storage)
When you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage under the key codex-theme. This is strictly functional, stays on your device, and is not sent to us or to any third party.
4. Categories of cookies
- Strictly necessary / functional: needed for the site to work and to remember your preferences, such as the theme setting in local storage.
- Analytics: help us understand site usage, provided by Google Analytics.
5. Third-party Google cookies
Google Analytics is a service provided by Google. Because it runs on this site, your data is also subject to Google’s own practices. You can read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
6. How to manage or refuse cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and clear local storage. Blocking functional storage may affect features such as remembering your theme.
- Google Analytics Opt-out. You can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent your data from being used by Google Analytics across sites.
7. Our consent approach
Strictly necessary and functional storage keeps the site running and respects your preferences. For analytics, we follow the consent approach in our Privacy Policy and the controls described above, in line with Canadian privacy law. You can withdraw consent to analytics at any time through your browser settings or the opt-out add-on.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our cookie practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top always shows the current version.
