Data & permissions
Effective: June 3, 2026 · Last updated: June 3, 2026
This page is a plain-language companion to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. It explains exactly what data systems.codexcorp.ca collects from you and what device or browser permissions it requests, all in one place and without legal jargon.
1. At a glance: permissions summary
The table below lists every browser-level permission the site could request, along with its current status and the reason.
| Permission | Status | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Not requested | Not needed. Also blocked by the site’s Permissions-Policy header. |
| Microphone | Not requested | Not needed. Also blocked by the site’s Permissions-Policy header. |
| Location | Not requested | Not needed. Also blocked by the site’s Permissions-Policy header. |
| Notifications | Not requested | Not needed. Also blocked by the site’s Permissions-Policy header. |
| Cookies & analytics | Used | Google Analytics cookies measure aggregate site usage so we can improve the site. See Cookie Policy. |
| Local storage | Used | A single key (codex-theme) stores your light or dark theme preference on your device. It is never transmitted to us. |
Permissions marked as “Not requested” are also actively blocked via a Permissions-Policy HTTP response header served by Cloudflare Pages, so third-party scripts cannot access them even by accident.
2. Data we collect
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics (tag G-C8DVXRC603) to understand how people use this site. It collects and aggregates information including:
- Pages and sections you visit, and how long you spend on them.
- Approximate geographic region (country or city level, not a precise address).
- Device type, operating system, and browser.
- Referring website or search engine that brought you here.
- Interactions such as link clicks and scroll depth.
This data is processed in aggregate and we never see individually identified reports. See our Cookie Policy for cookie names and lifetimes.
Functional local storage (theme preference)
When you switch between light and dark mode, we save your preference to your browser’s local storage under the key codex-theme. This value stays entirely on your device and is never sent to any server.
Cloudflare server and security logs
This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare automatically processes standard server-side request data (IP address, request path, HTTP method, status code, and timestamp) for delivery, security (DDoS protection, bot mitigation), and reliability purposes. This processing is governed by Cloudflare’s own privacy policy and our agreement with them.
Information you send us directly
If you email us at privacy@codexcorp.ca or follow a contact link on the site, we receive the information you include in that message. We use it only to respond to your inquiry. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle inquiries.
3. Device and browser permissions
This site requests no device or browser permissions from you. It does not ask for access to your camera, microphone, location, notifications, clipboard, contacts, or any other device capability. You will never see a browser permission prompt from this site.
The only browser storage this site uses is:
- Cookies, set by Google Analytics for usage measurement.
- Local storage, one entry (
codex-theme) for your theme preference.
4. Cookies and local storage
Our Cookie Policy has the complete list of cookies used on this site, including their names, purposes, and expiry periods. In summary:
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) measure aggregate site usage. You can opt out using your browser settings, the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or a Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control signal.
- Functional local storage (
codex-theme) remembers your light or dark theme selection. It is strictly functional and contains no personal data.
We do not use advertising, tracking, or profiling cookies of any kind.
5. Third parties
Two third-party services process data in connection with this site:
- Google Analytics for website usage measurement and reporting. Governed by Google’s privacy policy and our data processing terms with Google.
- Cloudflare for hosting, content delivery, and security for this site. Governed by Cloudflare’s privacy policy and our agreement with them.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share data with data brokers, advertising networks, or any party not listed above in connection with operating this website.
6. Your choices and controls
- Clear cookies and local storage. You can delete all cookies and local storage at any time through your browser’s settings (usually under Privacy or Storage). Clearing them removes all analytics cookies and your saved theme preference.
- Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. We respect DNT and GPC signals. If your browser sends one of these signals, Google Analytics will not be loaded for your session.
- Google Analytics opt-out. Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to prevent analytics data from being sent from your browser on any site using Google Analytics.
- Contact us. If you have any question about data collected during your visit, email privacy@codexcorp.ca and we will help.
7. Data location, retention, and your rights
Analytics data processed by Google Analytics is stored on Google’s infrastructure, which may include servers outside Canada. Cloudflare processes request logs across its global network. We take reasonable steps to keep personal information protected whenever it crosses borders.
Analytics data is kept for Google’s standard retention periods. Your theme preference lives only on your device until you clear it. Cloudflare server logs are retained according to Cloudflare’s own policies.
Under Canada’s PIPEDA and British Columbia’s BC PIPA, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information we hold about you, and to withdraw consent. For full details on your rights and how to exercise them, see our Privacy Policy.
