Data & permissions

Short version: this website asks for no device permissions. No camera, microphone, location, or notifications. Ever. The only browser-side storage it uses is an analytics cookie (Google Analytics) and one local-storage key that remembers your light or dark theme preference.

2. Data we collect on this site

Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use this website in aggregate. The data collected includes:

All analytics data is aggregated. We do not use it to identify you individually.

Theme preference (local storage)

When you toggle between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the key codex-theme. This data never leaves your device. It is not transmitted to our servers or to any third party.

Server and security logs (Cloudflare)

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare automatically processes request metadata, including IP addresses and HTTP headers, to deliver the site and protect it against security threats. These logs are handled under Cloudflare's own data-processing terms and are not stored by Codex Corp.

Information you send us

If you contact us by email or use a contact link on this site, you provide personal information directly (such as your name, email address, and message). We use that information solely to respond to your inquiry. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

3. Device and browser permissions

This website requests no device or browser permissions. It will never ask for access to your camera, microphone, precise location, or notification permissions. Additionally, camera, microphone, and geolocation access are proactively blocked at the network level by this site's Permissions-Policy HTTP response header, so browsers that honour this header will enforce the restriction automatically.

The only client-side storage this site uses is:

4. Cookies and local storage

For a complete list of cookies and local-storage keys used on this site, including their names, purposes, and lifetimes, see our Cookie Policy.

In summary: Google Analytics sets analytics cookies, and we store one functional local-storage item for your theme preference. No advertising, tracking, or profiling cookies are set by Codex Corp.

5. Third parties

Two third-party services process data when you visit this site:

We do not sell personal information to any third party, and we do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers.

6. Your choices and controls

7. Data location, retention, and your rights

Codex Corp is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Some of our service providers (including Google and Cloudflare) may process data on servers outside Canada, including in the United States. Cross-border transfers are described in more detail in the Privacy Policy.

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described, or as required by law. Analytics data is subject to Google's retention settings (we configure a 14-month data-retention window in GA4). Theme preference data is stored on your device and is under your direct control.

Under the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), you have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal information, and to withdraw consent.
